Description: Angelite is a trade name for anhydrite, a calcium sulfate mineral. It’s not a silicate like quartz or amethyst, which gives it unique properties and care requirements. Angelite forms when gypsum dehydrates over time, typically in arid, evaporated lake beds. This transformation turns soft gypsum into the more compact angelite. Because it formed from water loss, angelite should not get wet—exposure to water can revert it back to soft gypsum. No soaking or ultrasonic cleaning! Its soft blue to bluish-gray hue, sometimes with white or rust inclusions, gives it a calming, peaceful appearance
